Important Findings
Collaborative Action research data shows:
Individuals spend on average 10 - 20% of their time in organizations, checking their assumptions about others with those whom they feel most comfortable - 3rd party checking - rather than going directly to the individuals with whom they have the inferences.
About 45% of our inferences about others intentions (from one CA study) are either inaccurate, incomplete, or both. If we accept the import of these findings - even if we temper them - all of us can create new levels of business value and dignity by genuinely learning how to collaborate with others more effectively.
